ROCK CREEK SKEET CLUB BLOG

The primary purpose of the Rock Creek Skeet Club is to offer an opportunity for the camaraderie and social networking of neighbors in an atmosphere of friendly competition in the game of skeet.

Safety & Shooting Etiquette

It's important that we always keep safety foremost on our minds when we step onto the skeet field. Below are a few tips.

Only load your gun when you step into the shooting square.
Keep your breech open when not in the shooting square, this includes automatics, pumps, over & unders.
Always keep your barrel pointed down range.
Wear ear protection and safety glasses.

Shooting Etiquette:

Do not take unnecessary time when it's your time to shoot. Both rounds should be completed within a hour or less.

Do not ask the puller for advice or tips on shooting the station. League nights are not the time for skeet lessons and most of the pullers are not qualified to give instructions.

Be sure to let your team captain know if your not going to be shooting on a given night. Hot Wells needs to know this and it helps keep the scoring accurate.

Know the rules. Hot Wells has a published set of rules that you can request. Hot Wells follows the rules set by the National Skeet Shooting Association and these can also be found online. The home page of this blog provides the link.
